What to Expect During Dog Training
Board and Train
Our most popular training course. Your dog will come to the training center for 2 weeks where she will be immersed in our structured training program. Your dog will learn basic obedience by learning techniques of being calm, working on duration/place command, leash manners and working through distractions. Course incudes an extensive go home training program so that you can continue working with your dog at home. Once your dog has gone through this course, you are welcome to bring your dog for boarding, day care, or additional training as needed. Training courses are customized to your dog's needs. Training tools and techniques will be used and changed as your dog responds to the lessons. No dog's needs are the same and constant evaluation ensures your dog gets the best possible training while staying at the training center. Basic Obedience Courses
Basic obedience courses will be taught in a group setting. There could be up to 10 dogs training at the same location. Depending on the location of the training, you could be working with your dog outdoors. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. You should also bring water and a water bowl for your dog. Basic obedience classes are offered once a week for 6 weeks. The first week will be a 1.5 hour session. The rest of the weeks will be 1 hour sessions. Week 6 will be a graduation day where you will show your dog's skills to the group and receive a graduation certificate at the end of the course. Once you have taken your dog through the class, you are welcome to come to any basic obedience course that is offered in the future at no charge. This is a great way to keep you and your dog's skills sharp. Just give us a call to let us know that you will be attending. Puppies at 12 weeks of age are welcome to join the classes. All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Please bring your dog's vaccination records with you to the first class.
